This is probably the question that runs through the mind of those diagnosed with scoliosis. According to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons @AANSNeuro, "Scoliosis affects 2-3 percent of the population, or an estimated 6 to 9 million people in the United States." With the primary population of patients aged 10-15yrs mostly effecting girls.

With scoliosis diagnosed at ranges higher than 25deg we begin to hear talk about braces and surgery, and nothing about what active action patients can do to prevent progression and possibly decrease the curve's angle.

Here is where physical therapy comes in. Most specifically Schroth 3 Dimensional Scoliosis Thearpy. Over the next few weeks we will be discussing just what is Schroth 3D and how it is different from how scoliosis is predominately treated in the United States. We will discuss why our staff therapist, that have a combined experience of over 40yrs in physical therapy, find Schroth to be a crucial method for all Scoliosis patients to gain control of their curves instead of giving in to them.
